Bower, long-time resident Of thla city, who died last Monday, were held yesterday afternoon at the First Christian church. The Rev. Earl H. Van Doren, pastor of the church, officiated and delivered the eulogy. The body was taken from the Herrmann and company chapel to the church at noon to lie In state until the hour of the funeral.

Burial waa in Forestvale cemetery. In his eulogy, the Rev, Van Doren said in part: We are gathered here today as friends and loved ones to pay a last tribute 'of love and honor to the memory of Hiram E. Bower who leaves behind him a great host of close friends who have come to love him, and who through the years have treasured his friendship, and whose hearts are bowed In sorrow at his passing, just as truly as are the hearts of those who were closest to him. I am sure that I express the sentiment of all of those friends when I extend to his loved ones the deepest sympathy of -all -of -our hearts. "Mr.

Bower was a staunch Chis-tlan and a loyal member of this church for many years. At the time of his death he was a member of the board of deacons, a position which he was proud to bold and which he always filled with dignity and honor. In his death the church has lost one of its most widely-loved, and deeply-respected members. His kindly face, his unassuming service, hla staunch Christian faith have endeared him to all of us. His death brings to me a distinct sense of personal loss.

The assembly will consist of. an old fashioned revival and a Bible school for ministers and Christian work era. It Is expected to draw some of the leading ministers and workers of the church in America to Helena, Promoters of the Heiberg rodeo announce that the big event will take place next Sunday at the Hel berg arena, six miles north of Helena.

This, rodeo promises to be one of the fastest and most exciting In western Montana this year. "Red Allen and Carl Heiberg havd been rounding up mean horses and steers for the event. The best cowboys in the country will be seen at the rodeo, coming out of five chutes on the fastest pitching horses on the range.
